Online film premiere to raise funds for the revolution

There will be a virtual premiere screening of the film Sa-Mhat (Starting Point) on 8 August to raise money for the revolution.

The film was directed by Lin Lin who also composed the music.

He said: "There are things to think about in the film's content. The film was also give you something to think about in regards to the current situation in Myanmar."

The film's online virtual premiere will be at 8:00 a.m. on 8 August (Myanmar Time). It is being shown at that time to commemorate the the 1988 pro-democracy uprising that started on 8 August 1988. It is also known as the 8888 uprising.

People in Myanmar who want tickets for the event can buy them for 30,000 kyats from the price of tickets for the event varies depending on where potential viewers live. They are all sold in local currencies. Depending on the viewers location the prices are: 30 US dollars, 30 Australian dollars, 21,000 Korean Won, 3,000 Japanese Yen, 600 Thai baht, and 30 Euros per ticket.

Then, all ticket holders will be able to watch the premiere screening of the film wherever they are in the world at 8:00 a.m. on 8 August.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be used for the revolution, according to the film's makers.

One of the actors in the film, Daung, said: " I believe that what Ko Lin Lin wants to talk about will be the starting point of this revolution. The future of all of us."

Other actors appearing in the film include: Bo Bo, Htoo Htoo, Sandy Tun, Aung Lan and Chit Thu Wai.
