Yangon Region Military Command under the control of the National Unity Government announced in a statement on January 22 that they had conducted attacks under the name the “Pyan Hlwar Aung Operation” in seven townships in the Yangon Region against the military junta resulting in numerous casualties.
Local People Defense Forces conducted the “Pyan Hlwar Aung Operation” in Hlaingthaya, Tamwe, South Dagon, Mingalardon, Taikkyi, Insein and South Okkalapa townships in Yangon from January 16 to 22.
Two remote-controlled landmines were detonated by the People's Defense Forces at around 10 am on January 22 in Ward 20, Hlaingthaya township, injuring some members of the military junta.
The traffic police outpost on East Racecourse Road, Tamwe township in Yangon was attacked by two remote-controlled landmines at around 6 am this on Saturday, destroying a CCTV control box and injuring some junta’s soldiers.
Three remote-controlled landmines were detonated by the PDF at around 6 am on January 21 in Taikkyi township, killing two junta soldiers and wounding several others.
The Dictator Revolt Front (DRF) force attacked the main entrance of the Mingaladon Air Force Base with grenades at around 12 pm on January 21, injuring four junta’s troops.
The Freedom From Fear Youths (F2Y) attacked the military base on Nawaday Road, Ward 71 in South Dagon township with remote-controlled landmines about three times, injuring some junta’s soldiers.
The Boys and DRF members detonated a remote-controlled mine near the electricity office in Ward 4, south Okkalapa township at around 7 pm on January 16, injuring three junta’s soldiers.
A remote-controlled mine was detonated at around 8 pm on the same day as a first time warning for the prison staff who are torturing political prisoners in Insein Prison compound, West Ywarma Ward, Insein Township, according to the announcement.
The statement added that the Yangon Region Military Command will use various methods to attack junta troops responsible for arresting and detaining innocent civilians.
