Nine civilians killed by airstrikes on Webula town

On 10 April, Burma army fighter jets attacked Webula town in Falam Township in northern Chin State.

At least nine civilians were killed in the attack. Many people were wounded by Burma Army’s airstrikes.

After the CNDF seized the Var military camp on the morning of 10 April, the Burma army launched airstrikes on Webula town, which is located approximately 20 miles from Falam town.

Fighter jets also attacked Var village and Kyaung Hel village.

Local people said that during the airstrikes on Webula town shells from the fighter jets exploded near a school and a football field. Five civilian houses suffered heavy damage during the airstrikes. At least nine civilians were killed and many others were wounded by the airstrikes.

“I heard that at least nine people were killed by the airstrikes on Webula. Many people were injured by the airstrikes. Some people have serious injuries. I think the death toll will increase,” a resident of Falam town told Khonumthung news.

Webula town is located approximately 20 miles from Falam town and 15 miles from Var village. It is located on the Kalay – Nat Chaung – Falam vehicle road.
