Military clashes in Karenni State’s Loikaw have been continuing with many civilians fleeing their villages.
A front-line fighter of the DMO-PDF told Mizzima that junta troops on two military helicopters fired in Daw U Khu ward, Loikaw township, Karenni State at 4:30 pm on January 12.
"It was not a bombing. Firing with guns from a helicopter. No casualties were reported. The fighting was is still going on. They come with helicopters to fire because planes are used to carry rations," he said.
Fighting broke out again in Daw U Khu Ward, Loikaw town at 11 am on January 12. In addition to heavy weapons and small arms, junta troops are heavily bombing on the ground, according to local people.
During the fighting, local resistance forces joined up with KDF, DMO-PDF Battalion (A) and Battalion (H) Battalion and attacked the Myanmar Army units
