Myanmar gold price rises again beyond Thingyan

Due to growing worldwide gold prices, Myanmar's gold price has risen again following Thingyan, officials from the Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association said.

On April 12, before the Thingyan holiday, the world price of gold was $ 1966 per ounce, and on April 18, after the Thingyan period, it jumped by $ 20 per ounce to $ 1986 per ounce.

The price of pure gold has climbed from Ks 2043,000 to Ks 2055,000 per tical as a result of the rising global gold price.

Global gold prices have risen as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and sales are outnumbering purchases in the domestic market, according to a representative of the Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association.

Under the NLD regime, the price of gold was around 13 lakh kyats per tical. Since the military coup, gold prices have surged to new highs, and price volatility has been common.

Dollar prices have risen since the military coup in Mon State and the gold price rose to a record high of Ks 22 lakh between August and September last year.
