Military Council’s raid on PDF camp in Sagaing Region leads to seizure of large cache of weapons

The Nagani (Red Dragon) Guerrilla Force has reported a significant loss of weapons and ammunition, worth approximately 50 million kyats, following a raid on a temporary camp belonging to the People's Defense Forces (PDF) in Sagaing Township, located in the Sagaing Region.

According to an official from the Nagani Guerrilla Force, on April 8th, two Military Council transport helicopters deployed a significant number of soldiers in the vicinity of the PDF temporary camp. Subsequently, the camp was attacked and raided from both ground and air.

“Our camp was raided by the enemy who had knowledge of its exact location. The enemy's ground and air attacks were so superior that we were unable to defend ourselves and forced to retreat. Our comrades had to flee for their lives, leaving us unable to salvage any supplies. As a result, we suffered a loss valued at approximately 50 million kyats. One of our comrades has sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment”, he said.

After approximately five hours after the raid on the camp, the resistance forces launched a retaliatory attack on a location where the Military Council troops were stationed. The attack resulted in casualties on the side of the Military Council.

Subsequently, two helicopters belonging to the Military Council fired indiscriminately, causing injuries to several people and destroying multiple hospitals, clinics, schools, and houses in some villages.

The PDF camp, which was raided by the Military Council, is a joint settlement of the Nagani Guerrilla Force, the MDY Urban Guerrilla Force and two other Defense Forces. The resistance forces also confirmed the significant losses in weapons, ammunition, food, motorcycles, medicine, uniforms, and equipment as a result of the attack.
