According to local residents, the military council troops were stationed in Longkhin village until February 22, using public property, killing and eating animals, and threatening to kill them, if they tried to stop them. If a woman lived alone in the house, they would ask, “Where is your husband” and try to sexually assault her.

“ On February 22, one of my sisters was alone at home. When her husband was at work, they often came to ask, Where is your husband? and tried to sexually assault her. They also killed our chickens and pigs. They asked for rice. They threatened to kill you if you didn’t give them,”  said a resident of Naung Cho township.

The regime troops, more than 200 soldiers arrived in Longkhin village on February 21, after a battle with the TNLA in Kyaukme town. After entering the village, they used the public facilities without asking for permission, and left Doepin village on the morning of February 23.

On the way to Doepin Village, the residents said public cars were commandeered by the Military Council.

"They commandeered 3 cars. Two 12-wheelers and a 4-wheeler. It looks like they are going towards Doepin village. Today, they left Longkhin village," said the resident.

After the clash between the Military Council and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Naung Cho township, people are living in insecurity and anxiety.

“I worry about my home when I go to work. I Don’t know when the military will come in. And when I go to the farm, I’m afraid of stepping on landmines.” said a local man.
