The Military Council arrested U Moe Gyi, the brother of the of Pyithu Hluttaw member of parliament (MP) Zaw Zaw Aung, and later dumped his body next to a creek in Mandalay’s Maha Aungmye Township, according to a local who was close to the victim.
Junta troops dressed in civilian clothes arrested U Moe Gyi (aka) U Bhone Myint Moe, brother of Pyithu Hluttaw MPs at a local pub on 25 April.
On the morning of 27 April his dead body was found near Thingaza Creek.
“He was a normal person who was not related to armed organisations. He was only doing his job and did not care about anything. I can’t believe that they did this to him”, said someone close to U Moe Gyi.
In the last few days the junta has taken away people and killed them before dumping their bodies with the insignia of the military aligned Thway-Thout militia hanging from their necks.
The Thway Tout militia stated that they will wipe out anyone who is close to the National League for Democracy party (NLD) and its supporters. But so far, all the victims who have been found dead with the groups insignia hanging from their necks were arrested by Military Council personnel before their bodies were dumped from police vehicles, according to local residents.
