A father and son were killed, 8 more civilians were injured, and 25 houses were damaged as a result of an airstrike by Military Council troops in Myothit Gyi Village, Namsan Township, Ta'ang Self-Administered Zone, Northern Shan State.

An official from the Ta'ang Women's Organization (TWO) stated that at around 10:00 p.m. on November 19, the Military Council carried out an airstrike utilizing a jet fighter to drop a 500-pound bomb.

The official woman said, "As far as we know, a 500-pound bomb was dropped by a jet fighter. There were casualties, and houses were also hit. Two civilians, a father and son, were killed.”

The child was only around 10 years old. Among the 8 people who were injured, 6 women and 2 men sustained injuries, and 2 of them are in critical condition, she added.

At present, communication with the civilians from the village affected by the airstrike has been disrupted. As of this morning, all residents of Myothit Gyi village have fled to safety.

An official from the Ta'ang Women's Organization (TWO) concluded that the Military Council troops deliberately targeted civilian areas, and there was no ongoing fighting in Namsan Township, which was subjected to aerial bombardment.

"To our knowledge, the bomb fell into the village. It targeted a viewpoint on the mountain. There hasn't been any fighting in Namsan Township since the start of Operation 1027. Therefore, they deliberately dropped the bomb in a civilian ward," she said.

Myothit Gyi village, which was subjected to aerial bombardment, is a village where a significant number of Ta'ang people reside. It is located in Namsan Township, situated on the border of Kyaukme Township and Namsan Township.

During the period of Operation 1027 conducted by the Three Brotherhood Alliance in northern Shan State from October 27 to November 11, the Ta'ang Women's Organization (TWO) compiled lists indicating 37 civilian deaths and 65 injuries across northern Shan State.

Furthermore, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) reported that since the initiation of the operation in northern Shan State, over 200,000 civilians have fled due to the conflict, with ongoing fighting observed throughout the country. This figure represents the number of civilians who have fled in the two weeks since the start of the operation in northern Shan State.
