On the morning of April 23, a convoy of 12 military vehicles was attacked by a landmine planted by the Palaw People's Defense Force (P, PDF) and allied forces in Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region.
A military convoy coming from Myeik was attacked for the first time between Kade and Pawat Kone villages in Thayet Chaung Township, but managed to escape. The convoy then ran into a mine near Khamaungtaw village.
A landmine strike might have killed at least 10 members of the military council and destroyed two military vehicles, a member of the local PDF told the Than Lwin Times.
The fighting lasted for about an hour after the mine was detonated and the military council fired recklessly with small and heavy bombardment.
On April 17th, in Thayet Chaung and Palaw Townships, seven military personnel were killed when local PDF coalition forces attacked a convoy of military personnel.
Following the military coup, there were frequent skirmishes in Palaw Township between the military council and the local PDFs, with the military council suffering numerous losses.
