In Dawei, some communication lines were cut off for several hours. People took to the streets to protest

Locals told the Salween Times that some lines were cut off for more than two hours in the afternoon of September 5 in Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region.

From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Telenor, Ooredoo communications were cut off.

"In the afternoon, Telenor, Ooredoo phone lines not available. You only get miles and MP3s. And I saw planes flying. I don't know what will happen. Phone lines are back in the evening, ”a Dawei resident told The Irrawaddy.

In the afternoon, youths took to the streets of Dawei on Martyrs' Road, despite the loss of telephone lines, shouting "Welcome to NUG government recognition and welcome the people's soldiers/police."

This evening, the Dawei District Strike Committee was led by women and children in Launglon Township. Basic education students, including young people, joined the protest.
