CDF-Hakha Council claimed that they already taken control more than 90 percent of Hakha Township

More than 90 percent of Hakha Township in Chin State is already under their control, Chinland Defense Force (CDF Hakha Council) announced on September 17.

There were 103 battles already broken out between CDF-Hakha and the Military Council troops since the Myanmar Military staged a coup. At least 419 soldiers from the Military Council were killed and more than 190 were injured in those battles, according to the statement of CDF-Hakha Council.

CDF-Hakha is a local resistance force that has conducted most of urban warfare operations in Chin State since the coup. The group already launched more than 50 urban operations.

CDF-Hakha Council also held a conference on September 9 that was attended by 300 representatives from Hakha-based resistance forces. That conference was aimed to accelerate and strengthen the revolutionary movement.  

The conference decided that Chin people and the Chin State should keep revolving until achieving freedom from the unjust dictatorship and chauvinistic rule. The conference also agreed to cooperate with the Chin National Front (CNF/A).

CDF-Hakha Council covers Mie Region, Senthang Region, Zokhua Region and urban Hakha Region so that only CDF-Hakha Council is the official representative body of these 4 regions and no other armed or administrative groups shall not be formed, the statement said.

337 of Hakha residents were arbitrarily arrested but 309 of them were already released, according to CDF-Hakha Council. Another 28 locals are still being detained by the Military Council.

Furthermore, 6 civilians were killed in the hands of the Military Council troops and 27 houses were burned down. Another 3 houses were damaged by artillery fire.
