Burma Army Shells Tedim

Four civilian homes were totally destroyed during the regime’s artillery strike on Tedim, where according to locals, the Burma Army (BA) has destroyed over 1,000 houses and eight churches in the town in northern Chin State.

According to a man who requested anonymity, the attack on Sunday night happened after the Chinland Defence Force (CDF), which is fighting against the regime, attacked BA soldiers who were at a police camp and No 1 High School in Myoma ward.

The man didn’t know if there were any casualties in the attack, but said that one shell that hit near the people’s houses didn’t explode.

Last September, as the regime launched a massive offensive against resistance groups and civilians, more than 1,000 houses were destroyed in Thangtlang , about 217 km to the south. All 10,000 residents fled to the Indian border during the first attack last year.

On Sunday evening, clashes also broke out between resistance fighters and the regime in Kalay in Sagaing Region, which borders Chin State.

BA shelled houses in San Myo, Tar Han and Tawng Zalap wards but it’s unclear how many houses were affected by the attack.
