Attack on Yesagyo Base kills more than 15 Military Council troops

Myingyan Black Tiger, an armed resistance group, announced that it attacked a Yesagyo-based army base of the Military Council and killed 15 soldiers.

Myingyan Black Tiger attacked the Nyein Zar Ni military base in Phaung Taw Oo No. 4 Ward in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region on February 13th around 5:00 PM.

“When the military base was attacked, their reinforcements hastily came from the town. We also laid mines on the route they would come. But we didn't detonate them because people were watching. Therefore, we had to give up the possibility of taking over the camp”, said Bo Mike Khe, leader of Myingyan Black Tiger.

Bo Mike Khe added that all the members of the group had to retreat only half an hour after the operation started because the reinforcements arrived from Yesagyo.

In the raid on the Military Council's base, only one machine gunner was left there, but the resistance fighters were running low on ammunition hence they were unable to capture the entire base and had to retreat.

When the revolutionary fighters were retreating across the Chindwin River, the reinforcements of the Military Council troops opened fire from the ground, and another skirmish took place.

According to reports on the ground, 15 people died at the Military Council base that was attacked, Myingyan Black Tiger announced.

Eyewitnesses said that the casualties were taken three and a half times by vehicles belonging to the Phyu Sin Myittar Charity Association.

Although Yesagyo is not included in the martial law townships in the Magway Region, there are frequent clashes between the local defense forces and the Military Council.
