The Three Brotherhood Alliance, consisting of the Arakan Army (AA), launched Operation 1027 with the declared objective of escalating the resistance war against the Military Council on a nationwide scale. In the past 10 days the AA initiated offensive operations have been sustained against the Military Council in Rakhine State.
Over the course of the 10-day period, AA successfully attacked and took control of four Border Guard Force (BGF) police outposts under the command of Military Council.
The AA also declared that it has gained control over a cumulative total of over 40 additional BGF outposts and other positions, abandoned by Military Council troops.
BGF police outposts successfully captured by the AA are Chainkhalain and Done Pike outposts in Rathedaung Township, Done Nyo outpost in Maungdaw Township, and Kahtihla outpost based in Buthidaung.
Following the resurgence of conflicts in Rakhine State, several police stations under the Military Council surrendered to AA. Additionally, in certain smaller outposts soldiers have abandoned their positions and opted to join larger military bases.
AA has issued a call to soldiers and police affiliated with the Military Council, urging them to reach out to the nearest AA troops and surrender, if they wish to avoid loss of life and reunite with their families. AA has also warned that the Military Council soldiers who stubbornly refuse to surrender will face relentless attacks until their ultimate demise.
Currently, conflict between the Arakan Army (AA) and the Military Council is intensifying in Paletwa and Pauktaw townships within Rakhine State.
AA has been carrying out operations in Rakhine State and launching attacks on the Tarunaing and Hnubu tactical command outposts in the adjacent Chin State on November 14th, resulting in ongoing intense clashes.
Amidst the conflict in Paletwa, the Military Council air-dropped provisions and ammunition, with AA capturing some of these replenishment items on November 21st.
Intense clashes also persist in Pauktaw Township, with AA reporting that the Military Council is conducting airstrikes using fighter jets.
Currently, ongoing clashes between the Military Council and AA in Rakhine State are steadily increasing. From November 13th to 22nd, a total of 80 civilian casualties occurred as a result of the Military Council's indiscriminate shelling.
The count of war-displaced individuals who have evacuated from Pauktaw, Rathedaung, Buthidaung, Maungdaw, Ponnagyun, and Minbya townships due to the peril posed by the Military Council's artillery barrages, has surged to nearly 60000.
