Four civilians sustained injuries when Military Council troops conducted airstrikes on a clinic and a school located in Paukkan village, situated in the southern area of Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, according to residents.

Two jet fighters departing from Tada-U Airport conducted firing at around 4:00 pm on August 13 for approximately 15 minutes, causing injuries to four local residents.

"To our knowledge, they fired shots at both the clinic and the public school, which is a village clinic and a high school. There was no ongoing conflict, which is why there were no casualties," stated a resident of Wetlet.

Residents further mentioned that as a result of the airstrikes in Paukkan village, a house was destroyed and livestock were killed. Notably, the village clinic and school appeared to be the primary targets of the attack.

The individuals who sustained injuries were identified as Ko San Maw Oo, 25 years old; Ma Ei Ei Win, 30 years old; Ko San Min, 40 years old; and U Maung Soe, 55 years old, all hailing from Paukkan village.

On August 11, Military Council troops launched an attack on Talaing village in Sagaing township, using a jet fighter, without engaging in combat initially. Tragically, this incident led to the loss of four local lives, and subsequently, fighting broke out. Talaing village is situated approximately 5 miles away from Paukkan village in Wetlet township.

Regarding the airstrikes carried out by the Military Council troops on the villages along the Sagaing and Wetlet border, a member of the defense force remarked, "A key factor is the presence of numerous defense forces from Mandalay operating along the boundary of Sagaing and Wetlet. These forces are active both in Mandalay and Sagaing. This might be the reason why the military is intensively trying to secure the area. Additionally, the protection of military information appears to be compromised."

On August 11, airstrikes led to the demise of an 8-month-old baby, a monk, and two women in Talaing village.

From the time of the coup d'état until April 2023, Military Council troops have conducted 361 airstrikes on villages in Sagaing and Magway.

According to a report by Nyan Lynn Thit Analytica, airstrikes conducted on Pazigyi village in Kanbalu township on April 11 resulted in the loss of over 200 lives, including more than 40 children.
