AA Captured Minbya Township Under Heavy Artillery Fire from Junta

The Junta launched artillery bombardment on Minbya Township, now under the firm control of the Arakan Army (AA),  leading to the burning and destruction of several houses.

A Phalaungpyin village resident in Minbya recounted to Narinjara that he saw fires engulfing residential areas of Minbya from approximately 6:00 pm on February 14th, due to artillery shelling. "Some parts of Minbya were set ablaze due to artillery fire from Sittwe. One hour later the flames were still raging”, he said.

ABN news agency reported that the Junta's Navy warship anchored at Sunye village in Minbya Township fired a series of artillery barrages.

On February 12th, a man from Sekkayay village and another in Khaunglaungchaung village in Minbya Township were killed by shelling from the Junta's Navy. The following day February 13th, another youth died in an airstrike targeting Khaunglaungchaung village.

"On February 12th, two lives were killed by shelling during the Navy's retreat, with another casualty in Khaunglaungchaung caused by firing from a jet fighter on the following day”, a Minbya resident reported.

Similarly, near Kyarshaypyin village in Minbya Township, at approximately 3:00 pm on February 14th, explosions from the Military Council's artillery shells resulted in outbreaks of fire.
