An Arakanese youth, who was later identified as Ko Zaw Zaw of Raychan Byint village under Sittwe Township, succumbed to injuries on Monday.

The villagers of Raychan Byint village witnessed the youth with injuries at around 3 pm, who was missing since Sunday morning.

The victim was around 22 years old and belonged to the family of U Thingyaan Aung and Daw Pru Ma Chay of Raychan Byint village in the Arakanese capital city, stated a village elder.

A police officer from Ray Byint police station confirmed the murder of Ko Zaw Zwa. He also added that the body of the Arakanese youth was found near a creek nearby a Muslim village named Kha Din Pike, which is close to Raychan Byint Rakhine village.

The investigating officer found that Ko Zaw Zwa, who went missing since he went to mangrove forest near his village to collect fruits the previous day, received severe injuries in his neck, throat and head.

The dead body was then sent to Sittwe hospital for autopsy by the police and a case was also registered in the Ray Byint police station.Investigations are going on, informed a police officer.

Similar cases were reported from the town of Pauk Taw earlier too. A 41 year-old Arakanese woman named Ma Hla Than Sein from Munying Taw village in Pauk Taw Township was raped and killed by miscreants near a stream located at between Munying Taw Rakhine village and Kyin Ni Byint Muslim refugee camp few days back.
