U Aye Thar Aung, the President of the Arakan League for Democracy, has urged Arakanese living abroad to pursue academic studies to increase knowledge and acquire skills in their respective host countries.

He made the announcement to more than 100 Arakanese residents of New York and surrounding areas who received him at a special meeting on September 30 during his New York tour.
