The Chatrium Hotel denies wrong doing and will challenge the legal action instigated by the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) over the disposal of the hotel’s waste water.

Daw Khin Aye Myint, a representative of the water and sanitary department at the YCDC said, on 16th October, they have informed the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism their intention to proceed.

“We don’t throw waste water into the Kandawgayi Lake,” said Daw Thinzar Myat Mon, “we rent a vehicle from YCDC and use that to dispose of our waste water.”
