Mandalay Region Sub Police Major said that they will form a special security force for providing special security for the 27th SEA Games venue in Mandalay.
He added that the special security force will be separate from the police personnel responsible for routine security duty.
He further said, “We can provide better security with the separate police unit. And we can provide security assistance when required. The SEA Games special police force will be formed at the regional police force office.”
The authorities in-charge are in Naypyitaw to make special police ID cards for the special security force besides their normal police ID cards.
Traffic Police Unit 11 said that they did not have special measures for clearing traffic congestion during the Games but they are reportedly preparing for the duty.
The 27th SEA Games will be held in four venues namely Yangon, Mandalay, Naypyitaw and Ngwesaung in December 2013.
