Lin Htet Naing, Vice Chairman of the ABFSU Central Organizing Committee, told Mizzima that the forum will be organized in collaboration with human rights organizations, educational institutions and students.

The title of the forum is “Students’ Rights Standards” and an organizing committee will be formed so that the forum can be held before December.

“In our country, students’ rights and its standards have not been defined. We will hold the forum in order to draft a charter, so that students can be made aware of their rights”, said Lin Htet Naing.

Kyaw Ko Ko, Chairman of the ABFSU, told Mizzima that they will cooperate with civil society organizations, human rights organizations and nationwide students networks to form the organizing committee

The ABFSU will have discussions with these organizations to select members of the organizing committee before December when universities re-opened.

Speaking on the preparations for the forum, Kyaw Ko Ko said, “So far, the details of how we will cooperate with one another is still unclear.”

Lin Htet Naing said that they have invited students, literary organizations, cultural organizations, human rights organizations, scholars and experts on university-affairs to participate and become members of the organizing committee.

According to the ABFSU the findings of the forum will be submitted to the government, NGOs, and international universities.
