The situation has become tense ever since the two trucks filled with weapons came to the police station on 12th August. The police have taken position to defend the station.

Captain Soe Myint from the DKBA Relation Office, Myawaddy Township said that the DBKA personnel who went to District police office included Captain Thri Htoo, the Detection Officer from Kalo Htoobaw Unit, Battalion 907 Commander Deputy Colonel Daw Bi Gyi, two trucks and 40 men from the army.

“Only children are permitted to play these games. What we did was legal as we found out that the game center owners allowed customers to play with real cash. We went there to settle the issue as our help was requested with regard to the raid and closure of the Coin Game Center”, said Major Maung Lay from DKBA. Captain Soe Myint also commented that the case took a turn for the worse and got complicated once they tried to settle it. “The problem got worse when we intervened. Now it has been resolved but the manner in which it was handled has offended our army's dignity”, continued Captain Soe Myint.

The government army has taken up security duty at the police station in order to prevent the tension from getting out of hand. U Tin Maung Aye, Head of the Karen State Information and Public Relation Department said that the properties that were closed down during the raid at the Coin Game Center will remain under police control according to procedures.

He continued that the two sides, DKBA and the Police force have worked out a compromise. The raid of the Coin Game Center which led to tensions between the DKBA and Police Force  was carried out by the Police on 11th August. The DKBA claims that the game center has paid bribed the regional authorities to run its business.

U Tin Maung Aye confirmed that there were no shootings during the tension between two sides. Captain Soe Myint said that the DKBA officers who went to the police station were given warnings by the Central DKBA. He did not explain how they will handle the case further.
