In a statement released on Tuesday, the UNFC said that technical teams representing both sides will hold a “preliminary consultative meeting,” at which the main discussions will center on questions relating to the Political Dialogue Road Map and the organizations and persons who will serve as intermediaries in the political dialogue.

Speaking to Mizzima on Wednesday, UNFC General-Secretary Nai Hong Sa confirmed that the meeting would take place at an undisclosed venue in Thailand on July 13.

The UNFC says it is working for the “achievement of durable, just and dignified peace, through the resolution of political problems by political means, and endeavor until a Genuine Federal Union, based on democracy, is established.”
