Soldiers of the Burmese Army have been deployed on the way to polling stations in Kyar Inn Seik Gyi township. There are two polling stations in the township.

There are about 30 villages in Kyar Inn Seik Gyi township but there are just two polling stations in Mingala Kon and Kyauk Khe Kon village, according to a Kyar Inn Gyi villager.

“There are two ballot boxes. These boxes are in Mingala Kon and Kyauk Khe Kon village. Soldiers are seen on the road to the polling stations even in small lanes. The troops are questioning travellers. People are afraid to  go outside,” he said.

Soldiers from the tactical strategic command no. 32 are providing security in Kyar Inn and Seik Gyi roads. And several check points are in place in Kyar Inn Seik Gyi township, locals said.

Locals are still unaware of how to go about voting in the election. Neither are they interested in the proceedings. School teachers voted in advance a few days ago.

Soldiers are checking travellers at the Thingannyinaung gate, a Htewah Palaw villager said.
