5 May 2010: Mr. Hung Ngai the Chairman of the Chin State Peace and Development Council and Tactical Commander sustained injuries in the head in a car accident on May 3 outside Teddim town.

Mr. Ngai was travelling with the Divisional Command Commander Mr. Ta Aye. After they left Teddim town they were involved in the accident near Man Saung Bridge on May 3 afternoon.

“He inaugurated the Teddim civil hospital, and was headed for Rih village, on the Indo-Myanmar border. He was the only one injured in the accident,” said a local in Teddim town.

The accident led to his schedule being cancelled. He went back to Hakha town from Teddim on May 4.

Mr. Ngai is the first person to be appointed as Chin state Tactical Commander from among Chin people. –
