The Chin State Peace and Development Council Chairman and Tactical Commander Mr. Hung Ngai visited victims of a cyclone in Rihkhawdar sub-town in Falam Township on 27 April.

“The Tactical Commander visited the affected areas and consoled the affected villagers. He promised to persuade higher authorities to provide relief,” said a local.

He took a list and photographs of 25 houses and a government middle school, destroyed by the cyclone.

“He asked officials to calculate the value of the damaged houses excluding government buildings, which they estimated at about Kyat 180 lakhs. He gave other duties to USDA officials and headed for Teddim town,” said a local.

The recent cyclone destroyed many private houses and government buildings in Falam town, Chin state on 21 April. –
