For the first time, a Myanmar government delegation made up of a team from the country’s Consulates and Embassy in India will participate in a ‘Trade and Investment Conclave’ in Mizoram, Northeast India.
 
This conclave will be held on July 22 in Mizoram’s capital Aizawl. The Myanmar military government delegation will include officers and six trade representatives
 
The participants from Myanmar will include, Mr. Sein Oo Consul General of the Consulate General of the Union of Myanmar Kolkata, Mr. Kyaw Nyunt First Secretary of the Embassy of the Union of Myanmar, News Delhi, U Hla Maung Executive Committee Member (The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Chairman (Kalay, Tamu Border Trade Chamber of Commerce), U Tun Auang Central Executive Committee Member (The Union Of Myanmar Federation Chambers of Commerce & Industry), U Myo Thant Central Executive Committee member (The Union of Myanmar Federation of Commerce & Industry), Aye Win Executive Committee Member (The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers Commerce & Industry) Industry Sagaing Division) Monywa Industrial Zone, U Myint Zaw Director (Aye Nyein Thidar Pharmaceutical Co, Ltd), U Myat Zaw Director Wood-based Industry, Sagaing Division Monywa Industrial Zone. They will cross the Indo-Myanmar Trade Point no. 2 and reach Mizoram on July 21.
 
The Mizoram government and the Indian Chamber of Commerce have organized the conclave. Delegates from the Indian Chamber of Commerce, World Bank, Asian Development Bank will also participate in the conclave.
 
The conclave will be held in Beraw Hill and will start at 9:30 am and continue till 9 pm on July 22. On the agenda are discussions related to trade and investment opportunities in Mizoram; Mizoram bilateral trade and investment with Myanmar, and Mizoram bilateral trade and investment with Bangladesh among others.
 
Ginger and grapes produced in Mizoram will be showcased at the conclave.
 
The conclave aims to boost trade and commerce and step up development on a reciprocal basis between Mizoram state and its neighboring countries.
 
The purpose of the meeting is that "we will forge ahead in areas of trade, commerce and development with Bangladesh and Myanmar," Pu Tluangtea, a spokesperson from the Mizoram Trade and Commerce Department said.
 
Government of India’s Union Minister for DoNER and Mines B.K. Handique and Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia will also attend the conclave.
