String of Burglaries Strikes Shops In Than Tlang
Thang Tlang, Chin State: Police are still on the lookout for suspects who broke into six shops on Oct.19, in Thang Tlang Town. All of the shops were robbed in the evening, around the same time.
A pharmacy, general store, audio tape repair shop, two restaurants and a goldsmith on the main road of Than Tlang were all robbed in the evening, according to a local. Approximately 500,000 Kyats (US $588) was stolen.
Police believe the thefts were carefully executed by a gang of thieves. Locals are asking for assistance from the public to help identify the suspects.
“The local authorities never take the necessary measures to prevent thefts and uphold the law,” said one local, who did not want their name used.
