Only a day after they were dissolved by Burma’s central government, Nasaka (Burma border security force) have allegedly abducted 3 Bangladeshi fishermen from the Naf River on July 13.

“Nasaka members took away the three fishermen while they were fishing in the river adjacent to Naitang Para area in Teknaf,” said H Kamrul Islam, operation officer of BGB-42 Battalion.

Despite that Nasaka was absolved of power by President Thein Sein on the evening of June 12 it was allegedly still functioning the next day.

Md Zahid, Md Arab and Md Selim, and all from Teknaf Municipality were the latest victims reportedly abducted by Nasaka.

Two-days before they abducted 21 fishermen in the river. All the men were from Jalia Para village also in Teknaf Municipality, according to a BGB source..

BGB sent 2 letters urgently requesting a flag meeting between the two border security forces but are still waiting for Nasaka to reply.
