Bangladesh’s trade fair starts in Rangoon

The Bangladesh Trade Fair started in Rangoon recently. One participant said the purpose of the trade fair, the only one of its kind in Burma, is to popularize Bangladeshi-made products.

The three-day long fair at the office of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce (MFCC) and Industry was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Embassy and the Export Promotion Bureau, according to the Dhaka based newsgroup the United News Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Commerce Minister GM Quader was on hand to inaugurate the fair with Burma Commerce Minister U Win Myint who was the ‘Chief Guest’.

During the fair there were 32 stalls showcasing products Bangladeshi food and drinks, handicrafts, garments, and many other products and materials for sale, including services. Bangladeshi business persons were on hand for individual consultations.
