A flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Burma’s Nasaka (border security force) was held at Dusari Union near the Bangladesh-Burma border. Sixteen officers from each side attended the Sunday morning meeting. A range of issues were discussed from drug trafficking, illegal crossings to maintaining good relations.

One contentious issued that was brought up was the abduction of 2 (GE) army engineers near the Burma-Bangladesh on Nov.7, 2012. There is still no information available about which group is responsible for the abductions.

Nasaka personnel told Bangladeshi officials to maintain close communication with each other by mobile phone and do not hesitate to contact them in times of need.
