Business along the Maungdaw-Teknaf border point is finally back to normal after being re-opened on Nov. 24. Two-hundred and sixty-one people have already crossed the border in one week, according to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials. The majority being Burmese nationals

Trade between Burma and Bangladesh ground to a halt after sectarian violence between Buddhist and Muslims broke out in Arakan State in June. The border crossing was closed for exactly five months and two days. Both countries rely on exported goods from each other.
