A Nasaka (Burma’s border security force) officer in civilian clothing tried to enter a civilian’s home in Maungdaw in Arakan State recently. The officer who wasn’t carrying a gun was accompanied by a Rakhine man. The home owner, who suspected the duo were up to no good, didn’t answer the door, according to a relative.

“At about 3:30 pm, a Nasaka (Burma’s border security force) along with a local Rakhine gangster went to the house of Faizal, from Ward No.5 in Maungdaw.”

They allegedly broke some of the windows of the house before leaving. Subsequently they tried to return but on the way they looted a Rohingya owned shop by the roadside, according to the neighbor.
