A Rohingya was killed and two others were seriously wounded by the military yesterday at about 3 pm, according to a relative of one of the victim.

The incident occurred after Nasaka (Burma’s security force) entered the village Thayai Gonedan to arrest villagers accused of burning down the ex-village Chairman Enous house, said one elder who didn‘t want his name used.

When the Nasaka tried to arrest suspect Hafezullah, he apparently kicked one of the officers and tried to flee. Officers opened fire killing Hafezullah and seriously injuring Ali Johar  and  Arafa.

A close relative told the Kaladanpress that both of the injured are in critical condition. The relative said Arafa, who is pregnant may even die as a result of her injuries.
