BGB arrests and pushes Rohingyasback into Burma

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested nine  Rohingyas at the border on March 5th and pushed them back into Burma later, a local from Teknaf said.

“The Rohingyas were arrested while they entered illegally to Bangladesh from Sharpurdip, at about 9:00pm,”according to the source.

Six males, two females and one child were arrested during the raid, according to an official.

They were placed in BGB custody one night for further investigation. However, they were pushed back into Burma on March 6th, the officer said.

The operation was led by Company Commander FulMeah, of Shapuri Dip BGB out-post.

The Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Jahid Hassan, confirmed that those arrested were sent back to Burma.
