Bangladesh deports Rohingyas to Burma

Teknaf, Bangladesh: The Bangladesh Guard Bangladesh (BGB) expelled 16 Rohingyas at the Whykongon entry point on November 27.

“The Rohingyas were traveling to Cox’s Bazar in different vehicles on the Teknaf-Cox’s Bazar highway. The BGB arrested them at their check point,” said a trader from Teknaf.

In another incident on the same day, the BGB arrested Nazim Uddin, 26, of Shabran for trafficking in drugs and took him to the Teknaf Police Station. Uddin was stopped while traveling from Cox’s Bazar to Shamalpur with 3970 yaba tablets in his possession, according to an elder form Shamalpur.

The same day, the BGB also confiscated five sacks of fertilizer, three sacks of rice, seventy kilograms of potatoes and twenty liters of diesel. Together with a rowboat the items were being smuggled to Burma, according to an official from the BGB.
