Teknaf, Bangladesh: Two Rohingya men, Hussain Ali and Mohamed Joniat from Maungdaw North, were arrested on suspicion of smuggling. They were handed over to the Teknaf police station by the Border Guard Bangladesh on November 17, according to a local from Teknaf.

The BGB arrested the three men after they had crossed the border in a rowboat. The items the men were suspected of smuggling included kitchenware, drugs, building materials and foodstuffs. One man was released after being investigated, BGB sources said.

In another incident, on November 18 the BGB stopped 8 Rohingya—one woman, two children and five men—at the Teknaf entry point. They were made to return to Burma, according to an official.
