Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized huge quantity of Burmese goods worth taka over 2.5 million along the border on October 16, said a local trader from Teknaf.

“BGB personnel from Dum Dum Meah check-post and Maricha BGB check-post joined conducted operation and seized a microbus with huge quantity of Burmese goods.”

The seized goods are; Yaba tablets, Burmese longyi, Tami, day-night creams and Bums in the raided.

No smuggler was arrested by BGB of Maricha, official said.

Bangladesh authorities have been trying to stop smuggling goods including Yaba drugs and also have imposed restriction along the border, according to sources.

“So many Yaba tablets have been seized by different departments of Bangladeshi authorities along the border.”
