Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) destroyed huge number of drugs worth taka nearly 1,800,000 on October 4, said a local from Teknaf.
“BGB seized different kinds of drugs along the border from last May 21, 2011 to September 2011 after being conducted operations.”
Col. Boshirul Alam, the Sector Commander of Chittagong, destroyed all drugs which were seized from the border by BGB of Teknaf Battalion 42, according to BGB sources.
“Among the destroying drugs, 493 Yaba tablets, 50 gm tobacco, different kinds of wine 255 bottles, 25 bottles of beer and 372 litter of drug, all were damaged by BGB at 1:00 pm.”
BGB officer of Teknaf Battalion 42, Lt. Col. Zahid Hasan, Major Shamsuzaman, Medical officer Captain Rakib including others were present during destroying drugs.
According to Col. Boshirul Alam, the Sector Commander of Chittagong said that the drugs come from Burma to Bangladesh through the point of border. The drugs have been used by students, youths and businessmen in the society. It is going worse in the society day by day. So, the drug smuggling must be stopped by BGB along the borde
