Natala villagers are new settlers who were brought to Arakan state from Burma proper to settle in north Arakan to harass the Rohingya community and depopulate the Rohingya community. They are the criminals and have bad characters. mostly drug addicts. They were forcibly brought to north Araka or lure by giving false promise to them by the concerned authorities. 

Yesyterday, at about midnight, a group of Natala villagers numbering about 20 with lethal weapons such as---knives, spears--- went to the house of Kamal Hussain (32), son of Shoffi, hailed from Powet Chaung village under the Nasaka  Headquarters of Kyi Gan Pyin ( Kawar Bill) of Maungdaw Township. The Natala villages were backed by the local Nasaka personnel. After arrival at the compound of the victim house, seven Natala villagers entered the home and confined all the family members in a room except Kamal, and the other Natala villagers were out side of the home guarding the local villagers. Besides, five Nasaka with armed were also waiting from out side of the home, the relative continued. 

Kamal Hussain was out of the arrest as he was in the bath room at that time. However, seeing the robbers, Kamal resisted with robbers, so that he could be attacked by the Natala villagers and he was wounded at his leg and ran away out of the home. And then, Kamal Hussain made hue and cry and the villagers rushed to the spot and retreated after seeing the Nasaka personnel.  After that, the Natala villagers took away gold ornaments of his wife and cash from the home and went back to their destination, said another local elder who denied to be named.

“It is not immediately confirmed how much money and gold ornaments were taken away by the Natala villagers. The victim is a wood trader and a rich man in the village. The Natala villagers and Nasaka know that he has money.”

“The following day, in the morning, the District administration officer of Maungdaw town, local Nasaka area No. 5 commander and Lone Gadong out-post Nasaka commander came to the house for query the incident.  After the query, they returned to their places and there is no action against the culprits till now.”

The wounded Kamal was sent to Maungdaw General Hospital for medical treatment.

Besides, yesterday, another Natala villager from Aung Thaya Natala village of Maungdaw Township illegally asked Kyat 1,000 from a Rohingya villager named Abdu Shukur (35) of Wabeg village of under Nasaka Headquarters and he refused to pay money. So, the shopkeeper Abdu Shukur was severely beaten by the Natala villager accompanied by his wife. Hearing the noise, the younger brother of Abdu Shukur rushed to the spot, and the Natala villager was brutally beaten up by his younger brother. After that they went home. After awhile, Abdu Shukur accompanied by his younger brother went to the Naska headquarters to appraise the matter. When they reached at the gate of Nasaka Headquarters, the relatives of the Natala villager rushed to them and beat them severely again in front of the Nasaka personnel. Later, the two brothers were arrested by the Nasaka, according to a local trader preferring not to be named.

A local elder said, “It is a newly harassment against the Rohingya villagers by the Natala villagers with the help of Nasaka.”

A local schoolteacher said, “Why the Nasaka commits robbery against the Rohingya villagers with the help of Natala villagers? There will be something behind it.”

A local youth said, “ How the Rohingya people will stay in their villages with peacefully?”
