Teknaf, Bangladesh: Nineteen Rohingya were arrested by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) along the border on September 25, said a local from border area.

“BGB arrested 12-Rohingya from Whykong check-post while they were going to Cox’s Bazar with various kinds of vehicles and other seven were arrested from Teknaf.”

The12-Rohingyas were arrested by BGB officer Majibur Rahaman from Whykong check-post, a BGB official said.

The arrested Rohingyas were pushed back to Burma through Hunsiparan border point after investigation, the official said.

Other seven Rohingya were arrested by 42 Battalion of BGB from Teknaf and pushed back them from the entry point, according to BGB source.

Most of the Rohingyas who cross the border, came for medical treatment as they are not able to get medical facility in northern Arakan (Maungdaw and Buthidaung) in government hospital. A few person cross the border to visit their relatives in the refugee camp.

Among the arrestees, some were identified as Mohamed Younus (22), Monir Ahamed (25), Azim Ullah (21) Mohamed Amin (19), Aman Ullah (30) and Rashid Ahamed (32).
