BGB seizes 6000 litters’ diesels at border

Ukhiya, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 6,000 litters of diesel at border yesterday at around 6: pm, said a local trader.

“BGB seized diesels from the border point of Palong Khali while it was being tried to smuggle to Burma from Bangladesh. They also arrested the driver of truck and a businessman”

The seized diesels were brought from Ukhiya by a businessman with a truck, official said.

On being tip off, BGB from border out-post of Palong Khali under battalion 17, Cox’s Bazar district raided and seized it. The operation was led by BGB officer Yousuf Mullah, according to official. “Tazumuddin, drove the truck.”

After seizing diesels, BGB informed to Ukhiya police station regarding the matter.

However, police has filed case against them in the Ukhiya police station.

Beside, BGB arrested Shamshu Alam, a Bangladeshi with 900 Yaba tablets from a special mini bus at Dum Dum Meah check-post yesterday.

The arrested smuggler was sent to Teknaf police station for further investigation, said a local from Teknaf.
