Visiting Myanmar Air Chief spends busy day in Dhaka

Chittagong, Bangladesh: Visiting Commander-in-Chief (Air) of the Myanmar Air Force Gen. Myat Hein passed his time in the capital of Dhaka by participating in different programs on Sunday, according to United News of Bangladesh (UNB).

Yesterday morning, he placed a wreath at the Shika Anirban (eternal flame) at the Dhaka Cantonment, paying homage to members of Armed Forces martyred during the liberation war in 1971, said an ISPR press release.

Gen. Myat Hein also went to the Air Headquarters and called on Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman and discussed matters of professional interest. The Myanmar Air Chief was briefed on different activities of the Bangladesh Air Force. He also took part in a photo session with the senior BAF officers and signed the visitors’ book.

Earlier, upon his arrival at Air Headquarters, the Myanmar Air Chief was presented a guard of honor by a smartly turned out BAF contingent. He inspected the guard and took salute.

Gen. Myat Hein later called on the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral ZU Ahmed at the Naval Headquarters and discussed matters of mutual interest.

He also called on Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division Lt. Gen. Abdul Wadud. The two exchanged greetings and discussed bilateral issues.

The Myanmar Air Chief also visited the National Defense College (NDC) and Defense Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Mirpur Cantonment where he called on NDC Commandant Maj. Gen. AKM Mujahid Uddin and DSCSC Commandant Maj. Gen. Mohammad Shamim Chowdhury.
