Burma emerged the champions of the team event of the Runner Group Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship at Kurmitola Golf Course in Cantonment yesterday, according to sports reporter from Dhaka.

Burma, comprised of Yan Myo Aye and Maung Maung Oo, finished first with a gross score of 290, as Maung Maung Oo played an excellent three under par 69 and Yan Myo Aye played two over par 74 the day after both led the opening days’ scores.

Hosts Bangladesh A and B, along with India and Pakistan, finished joint second with the same scores, but Pakistan were declared the runners-up after evaluation of the back count tie-breaking system, according to a press release.

In the individual event, Indian Kahlin Joshi led the table after playing two under par 69 in the second round with aggregate two-day scores of 139.

He was followed by Yan Myo Aye, who scored one under par 71 to finish with a two-day score of 143.

Dulal Hossain and Sajib Ali of Bangladesh jointly held third place with level par scores of 144 each.
