Bangladeshi authorities arrest woman with Yaba tablets

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: The Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a Bangladeshi woman with 400 Yaba (methamphetamine) tablets in Teknaf on April 3, said a local from Teknaf.

The arrested women has been identified as Lakhi Akter (35), daughter of the late Muzemmal, from the southern side of Cox’s Bazaar.

After being tipped off, BGB from Dum Dum Meah check-post checked various vehicles and found 400 Yaba tablets on the woman’s body while she was carrying the drugs to Cox’s Bazaar from Teknaf.

After arrest, Akter was sent to Teknaf Police Station by BGB personnel, who have filed a case against her at Teknaf Police Station.

A local said that most Yaba tablets come to Bangladesh from Burma through agents.

Police Officer-in-Charge from Teknaf police station said that Akter was arrested from Dum Dum Meah check-post on the Cox’s Bazaar-Teknaf highway. Police have detained her for further investigation.
