Burmese soldiers injured in KIA mine explosion
Several Burmese government soldiers were injured in a KIA mine explosion on Tuesday at about 10 a.m. local time, at the front in Kachin State, according to KIA sources.
The government troops were from Infantry Battalion No. 37, based in Myitkyina, under Northern Regional Command, said the KIA.
The explosion occurred when Burmese troops in the Nahpaw Bum Post, the former KIA headquarters east of the Myitkyina-Manmaw Road, in Waingmaw Township, moved back to Gangdau Yang village on the highway, said the KIA officer.
The troops also faced gunfire for several minutes from the KIA soon after the mine explosion, according to KIA officers.
