Two port laborers injured while loading timbers on a truck on December, said Shofi, a port worker from Teknaf land port.

The injured persons have been identified as--- Mohamed Imran (25), son of Mohamed Salam and Shah Newaz (28), of unregistered Leda camp (Tal) under the Teknaf police station of Cox’s Bazar district.

According to Shobbir Majee of Teknaf, the said injured persons along with other refugee laborers went to Teknaf land port to work for their survival because they don’t get any support from any quarters where more than 15,000 refugees live in the camp.

During the loading timbers to the truck, unfortunately, the timbers fell down on the victims’ bodies and got severe injuries. After incident, they were immediately brought to Leda refugee clinic where they were admitted, Shobbir added.

However, they are taking medical treatment at Leda clinic through International Organization for Migration - IOM, but, Imran conditions was very serious, need to send to Cox’s Bazar government hospital or Chittagong Medical College for better treatment, the camp leader added.
