Chin Progressive Party Questions Koh Tao verdict

The Chin Progressive Party (CPP) issued a four-point statement concerning the death sentence handed down last month to two Arakanse migrant workers on trial for the murder of two British backpackers on the Thai island of Koh Tao. The strongly worded statement was sent to the Thai Embassy in Rangoon and the Privy Council of Thailand.

Amending Constitution & Peace Are Biggest Challenges

Amending the 2008 Constitution and moving forward with the peace process in Myanmar will be the main challenges the National League for Democracy (NLD) faces after forming the new government, said political analyst Dr. Yan Myo Thein who spoke recently at the Intellectual Talk on 2015 Election in Yangon.

MNP Reports Alleged Election Offense

An alleged incident of Ward and Village Election Commission officials being driven from a polling station on Election Day by the administrator for Ye Township’s Hangan Village in northern Mon State was reported to the police by the Mon National Party (MNP). MNP candidates Naing Sein Mya Aung, Naing Kan Linn, and Naing Aung Htay filed the case against the village administrator after reporting it to the Union Election Commission (UEC).
